Prayer & Praise

Prayers Please!

A Dear Young man tried to end his life last night…unsuccessfully. Please join me in prayer for him. God knows who he is.

Dear God,

This young man has many burdens on his hear and mind. Let him feel your hands lifting those burdens. Let him join yoke with you to lighten his load. Lord, help him to realize that there is great value to his life. Let him know how much he means to his family, his friends, and to you. Lord, he is a sweet, wonderful young man nestled in a Christian home, though I do not believe he has accepted you yet. But you know the things much better than I that go on between the two of you. Give him travel mercies as he goes through this journey. Put before him people who will say and do things that will turn his thinking around. Be with his mother, who is heart sick and deeply in prayer. Hold him in your hand, Lord, and protect him. Please.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen

Thank you, Prayer Warriors!

For my niece, who is a diabetic. She is in the hospital and has pre-eclampsia, a condition that could jeopardize not only the functioning of her kidneys but also the health of her unborn baby girl. Further tests today will help the Drs. decide if they should induce labor or not. The baby, since she will be premature if born now, will have to stay in the hospital for 2 – 6 weeks. Pray for comfort and strength for all and a healthy strong baby.

Secretariat Reminder

Jeremiah 31:28
In the past I deliberately uprooted and tore down this nation. I overthrew it, destroyed it, and brought disaster upo n it. But in the future I will just as deliberately plant it and build it up. I, the Lord, have spoken!

Wow! 2 weekends down and they were fantastic!! This community continues to be a strong and powerful blessing to everyone who comes in contact with it. Thank you to all the members of secretariat that have helped make thi s community and the transition process a success and to all the general community who showed up to support both the men’s and women’s weekends!!

Just a reminder that secretariat meets this Friday, May 20th at 7:30 pm at Auburn UMC. Ultreya leaders will meet at 7 pm to share thoughts and ideas. We will gather at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary for fellowship and communion followed by a meeting and of course Denny’s for a late snack if you wish to join us! If you have not been to a secretariat meeting, it is open to everyone and is a great time to fellowship with members of the communit y. All are welcome at the meeting, but only secretariat members are allowed to vote on items that require it.

Hope to see you Friday night. If not, see you soon. God Bless and safe travels! Kevin Farnsworth, Lay Director Closer Walk of UNY

Raquette Valley Ultreya

Hi,

Reminding all that this May’s Raquette Valley Ultreya gathering was moved to one week early: Sunday, May 22.
With God’s permission, it won’t be raining inside that night!
We look forward to a lovely, inspired, Sacred Dance team to present a program of spiritual enrichment. The Women’s Closer Walk weekend at Geneva had its Closing on Sunday, May 15, and we might be able to welcome some of them Sunday.
The usual business should begin at 6:30, with prayer, praise, and singing afterward.
So come with a friend, songbook, name tag and a thankful heart to Potsdam UMC (Main Street).

God is good,….
John

Prayer & Praise

Dear Prayer Warriors,

Please pray for my mom. She is 80 years young. She had a knee replacement in February. For the first couple of weeks all went well with the recovery then it started going haywire. She has had 3 bouts of cellulitis in that leg, and she has been in alot of pain, and has not been eating. Her doctors told her that she was exercising too much, thus slowing the healing. She has not been able to eat well, thus losing weight. On Tuesday she was admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics.  Thru blood tests, it was determined that she had a staph infection in the new knee. Friday, the surgeon replaced the previous knee replacement with one that is infused with antibiotics. She will now start the healing process all over again. She has always been a very strong woman and loves the Lord. My dad and the rest of my siblings do not know the Lord.

Thank-you for your prayers.
