Any questions, call or text 315-806-5178.
I know that this is the men’s weekend, but ladies spend Friday night and Saturday morning in Liverpool, then continue on to Boonville for holy hour, serenade and a little help in the kitchen. Praise and glorify and worship our Lord and Saviour. Share this event with with your girlfriend. This is a great event to bring your unchurched girlfriend to. At $19.00, it’s a less threatening environment for some. Bring the burdens and the turmoil, bring them to the cross.

Abundant Grace,

Family Life presents 33 Miles and Todd Agnew for this concert series.
Dove nominated, 33 Miles will entertain and inspire audiences. Listen closely and you’ll hear influences well beyond the Rascal Flatts stereotype applied to 33Miles in days past, a wall of sound reminiscent of artists like Coldplay, Train and One Republic. But that wall never overshadows the message of the gospel.
33 Miles will be joined by Todd Agnew, an artist who has long challenged listeners to ask better questions. Todd has found at least some of his needs fulfilled as of late: the need for companionship, family, roots and direction.
Advance sale tickets are $15 for General Admission, $19.50 for Artist Circle and $18 at the door. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here or calling Family Life’s ticket office at 800-927-9083.

Secretariat Reminder

“The LORD is my solid rock, my fortress, my rescuer. My God is my rock—I take refuge in him!—he’s my shield, my salvation’s strength, my place of safety” (Psalm 18:2).

I hope this note finds you all well in the wake of the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. Keep praying for everyone who was directly affected by that day!

greetings! Wow- another month has flown by!! Just a reminder that Secretariat meets this Friday, September 16 at 7:30 pm at Auburn UMC. Ultreya leaders will meet at 7 pm.

If you have never been, all are welcome to attend secretariat. We gather at 7;30 pm for fellowship and singing in the sanctuary followed by a meeting. All are welcome to attend the meeting, but only secretariat members can vote.

At this point, I have NO nominations for leaders for the spring and summer 2012 weekends. The plan was to have names submitted by September’s meeting so we could pray over them for a month and vote in October. We still need to vote in October, so if I don’t have enough names, we may have to cut our prayer period short again… PLEASE CONTACT YOUR ULTREYA LEADER AND HAVE THEM GET ME THE NOMINATION IF YOU HAVE ONE!! THANKS!!
I am NOT carrying over names from before. If people want to have their names submitted again, they need to let me know.
Also, if there are any additional names to be submitted for Lay Director of Secretariat, I need that info ASAP also. Thanks!!!

Hope to see you Friday! Safe Travels!! Kevin Farnsworth, Lay Director, Closer Walk

Men’s VDC # 12

Greetings Christian Community in Action,

Via de Cristo men’s weekend #12 is being held at Zion Lutheran Church in Cobleskill, NY, September 15th -18th. Because of the recent hurricanes, Cobleskill, Middleburgh, and Gallupville were hit very hard by all of the rain. Many community members lost their homes and businesses. I would like to invite anyone who is planning to come out and support the weekend to bring an extra pair of clothes to work in and be prepared to get a little dirty. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together and work in a shelter kitchen, paint, put up dry wall, or break things down in order rebuild. By helping out, we can spread the Gospel and pray, pray, and pray some more!! When you arrive at the church, please see Mike or Jodie Dougherty (VDC Community representatives) and hopefully they will be able to direct you to the right location.

Directions to Cobleskill:
Thruway east to exit 29 (Canajoharie – Rt.10 south to Sharon Springs), go to Rt. 20 east, then to Rt.145 south right into Cobleskill to Zion Lutheran church is on the left. From Utica take Rt.8 south to Rt. 20 east then Rt. 145 south, it is much faster. Forget the Thruway, it seemed to save about a half an hour. This will take you to Main St. Cobleskill at the same point as Rt. 10.

In Christ alone,
Elizabeth Smith
Damascus Road VDC
Lay Director
