Closer Walk #94 Reunion

Volunteers to provide child care at the 94th Post Walk Gathering are needed for August 20th.

Two volunteers are needed to volunteer to provide child care at the gathering. One must be 18 years old or older, the other 25 years old or older. The gathering will begin at 9 AM, and end at 3 PM. The location is the Cortland First United Methodist Church, 734 State Route 222 Cortland, NY. The first sessonis from 10-1130 Am, and then 1-2:15 PM.

To meet Safe Sanctuaries requirements, background checks will be required. Please pray about this opportunity to serve, and respond by email to gramseyer@twcny.rr.com. Questions, please call 315-330-3492.

Secretariat Reminder

Greetings!! I hope this email finds you all well. Just a reminder that secretariat meets this Friday, August 19th at 7:30 pm at Auburn UMC. Ultreya leaders please try to gather at 7 pm for your own meeting and discussion.

We will have a time of singing and fellowship followed by a brief meeting. This meeting will primarily be just updates and reports as I am still waiting to get some more info on Insurance. All are welcome to attend the meeting although only members may vote on items that require it….

It would be really good to hear from some ULTREYAS we haven’t heard from in awhile. Let us know how you are doing.

Don’t forget…NAMES need to be submitted by your Ultreyas by the September meeting for the following: Leaders for the spring weekend AND Leaders for the summer weekend. IF YOUR NAME has been submitted before, or YOUR ULTREYA HAS SUBMITTED NAMES before, please resubmit them if those people are willing to have their names put in again. I WILL NOT CARRY OVER NAMES from previous votes. RESUBMIT! Give names to your Ultreya Leaders and then your Ultreya Leaders can pass them on to me.

Also, We need any other nominations for new Lay Director to take over in January 2012. So far, I have Sue Acker and Cyndi Jenkins. We will need to get the vote out in October, so names must be submitted by the September meeting!! Again- please submit names through your Ultreya. THE PEOPLE BEING NOMINATED need to know they are being nominated and it should be discussed at your Ultreya meeting!! Thanks!

Prayer & Praise

Please keep our grandson in your prayers. We had learned that they released him from the hospital. Still had small hole in lung. Think this might have been cause he has no insurance. They wanted him to rest for 4 days. Don’t think he has been doing what Drs. said.

I ask for your prayers. On Monday, I have a Dentist appoint to have my bottom teeth removed and an immediate denture put in along with a new upper. I pray for minimal pain, quick healing and quick adjusting. Have been putting this off for a long time. Just could not afford the expense. Can’t now but need to have this done. It is long long overdue.  Have 18 mo. to pay this off. Trust that God will provide me with the work to it. This has been a very rough year for me. Appreciate your prayers. I have to continue to believe that God will make a way.

Please lift friends and their family in prayer, as they travel to Kentucky to be with their daughter and her husband, as they grieve the loss of their baby daughter.

URGENT PRAYERS, PLEASE FOR MY COUSIN.  SHE HAD EXTENSIVE SURGERY LAST NIGHT.  NEEDS LOTS OF PRAYERS!!!

I would ask that you lift the Men’s teaming for Closer Walk # 95 currently being held in the Avoca UMC, Avoca, NY.  The men joined our Ultreya for our dish to pass dinner and gifted us with their awesome musical talent!!!  The candidates are going to be so blessed that are going on the upcoming walk in Boonville.  Please continue to raise these up to the Lord.  (When we just left the church they really seemed like they were having way to much fun!!!  lol…)

Please keep a friend’s father and mother in prayer. Her father has a cancerous growth on his face and neck. Her mother’s cataract surgery didn’t take and she has pressure building up behind one eye. Her 5 year old niece has a growth around her belly button that needs surgery.

Dear VDC and CW Communities,

I just received some very sad news. We have all been praying for a friend. He and his wife  recently moved out to California to be closer to their family. He had been struggling with cancer here, but had been in remission. After moving to California, they found that his cancer had returned. I just found out that he died yesterday.  He is with His Lord and Savior.

 

Ultreya Meetings

Burning Bush Ultreya will be meeting on Sunday, August 21st at the Boonville UMC at 4:00 pm.  Please join us for fellowship!  We will be planning for the joint teaming on Sept 16 – 17th and the fall weekends.
