Dear brothers and sisters,

Our dear friend, an indigenous missionary in Kenya sent me this prayer request, “We would like to continue to kindly request you to remember to pray for our safety as we traveled in risky places to reach out to the unreached with the Gospel through the Jesus film in their own local languages, yesterday two churches where attacked by the terrorists while they were worshiping and 17 people killed and 65 seriously injured, the day before yesterday our neighbor pastor was attacked , the pastor was killed and his head cut off in front of his son, have you been able to read this in the news about Kenya? this pastor was killed right where we are working and it is really threatening! please pray, pray, pray for us.”

News of the attacks: <http://www.persecution.org/2012/07/01/muslim-radicals-kill-17-christians-attack-two-churches-in-kenya/>.

He is the most committed Christian I’ve ever met, daily risking his life for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thousands of new believers have come into the Kingdom by his humble yet steadfast ministry. He visited our home nearly 2 years ago while he was in the US and our spirits bonded immediately. Please lift up this humble servant in prayer for protection and provision. If you would like to do something tangible to help his ministry contact me via email: drew.edwin.hill@gmail.com

I praise God for each one of my Emmaus/Closer Walk brothers and sisters,

I am asking for prayers for my husband, and his whole family as they mourn the loss of his brother (-in-law).
Please pray for his sister, that God give her strength and comfort during this time. Pray for their children as they process the loss of their father.
God Bless you all.

Prayers

Dear Closer Walk Family,
Please pray for a family I know. They are grieving the loss of a husband/father/son who took his own life yesterday. Pray for God’s protection on their hearts and for His love to surround them as only He can comfort and bring peace to us despite our understanding…especially the wife/widow and young son, as they begin to deal with what will surely be a long journey of dismay and heartbreak. God knows this family, and you probably don’t, so it’s not necessary to include their names, but I do appreciate the luxury I have to know that I can turn to you, wonderful community of faith, knowing that you are likely already petitioning on this family’s behalf. What a blessing you are prayer warriors! Praise God for His faithfulness!
DeColores & Peace be with you!

Just got word that my cousin was using his saw and cut off 3 or 4 fingers.  As I write this, he is being transferred to hospital.  He is diabetic and on quite a few meds.  Prayers requested that the doctors will be able to save his fingers and that he survives this tramatic ordeal.  Also prayers for his wife as she drives very little and is a nervous wreck.

4th Day Ultreya Annual Gathering at the Haines,
Let’s see…July 4th. Remember last year? And the year before? And…well it’s happening again! Come join Jeff, Tina and company this year too for another good wholesome gathering starting at noon. Bring your kids, a dish to pass, lawn chairs and joyful noise makers. Haines residence is at 8087 Kirkville Road – 5 miles east of RTE 481, zip 13082.

Prayer Warriors,
Please pray for a friend who had hip replacement today. He will be in Hospital for 3 days and then transferred to facility. Please pray for healing for him and for travel mercies for his wife. I know that this is going to be a struggle for him for the patience to be away from home and not to be at home with his wife.

Hi All,
The 2012 Summer Closer Walk weekends are as follows:
MENS: July 12-15, 2012, at the Emmanuel Congregational United Church of Christ in Massena. Tom O’Connor is the weekend lay director! He has two different verses. Revelation 3:20 Christ at the Door and Isaiah 40:31 Soar Like an Eagle.
WOMENS: August 16-19, 2012, at the Emmanuel Congregational United Church of Christ in Massena. Gail Frary is the weekend lay director! Her verse is Psalm 86:5, 5 You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.
Remember the most important way that you can support the weekend is to bathe the team, candidates, sponsors, kitchen crew and travelling community in prayer!!!

The Bus

Ephesians 3:20 Now glory be to God!
By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.

Here is a wonderful update on the bus. It has been purchased , it has licence plates and it will be moved this week. Praise be to God and each of you who has played a part in this. You have been faithful and I thank you.

It will be an incredible day to get the bus ready for Massena. So, to all of you who are willing and able, Jeff and Tina Haines have graciously offered the 4th of July as a work on the bus day as well as a picinic. If you feel you would like to help, but that you have no skills to contribute, please help sort and throw out obsolete or damaged goods.

Thanks to all who donated generously; thanks to all who played a part in the licence; and thanks to all who will be moving it from one place to another.
