Prayer & Praise

a friend went to ER last night and they decided to keep him overnight. He is getting an MRI today finally. Insurance wouldn’t pay for one two months ago when the Dr.’s wanted to……hopefully they can figure out what is going on. Symptoms increased substantially yesterday – Basically neck pain up into head and shooting down the arm where the arm and fingers are numb. One side – not the side he had from the heart attack. Last night he was throwing up because of it.

We ask for prayers for a friend. He is having a very difficult time with his back and is in a lot of pain. Drs. cannot find what is causing the pain. They are going to try to give him some Cortezone shots to see if it will help. We pray for comfort and strnegth for him. We also ask for prayers for a very close friend. She has been on a very difficult road with many struggles since having a heart attack in June. We pray for comfort, strength and courage as she continues in her recovery and to be able to return to work soon.

An update on a friend. They have discovered he has bone spurs (arthritis) on his neck and that is what is causing him the pain and the inability to feel his arm, hand…..he thinks he is being released today to come home until Tuesday. He will be having surgery on Tuesday to correct this.

My daughter just called and was at her Aunt’s house for Christmas eve and her mom had to take her to the Hospital with chest pains. Please pray for her pains not being heart related. Thank you prayer worriers.

We ask for prayers for one our grandson. We were just told that Drs. had removed a tumor on the back of his head. Reports have come back that it is cancer and he will be going to have treatment. We ask for prayers for healing, comfort and strength during this difficult challenge. Prayers for the family and for us as we all have to cope with the news.

Please add a friend to the prayer chain. He has been struggling with pain and throwing up since Thursday and was not getting any answers. Today finally they did a cat-scan and found an obstructed incarcerated bowel they are admitting him to Hospital and we are most likely looking at surgery. Please pray for the Doctors and the staff also for the family especially his wife. Christmas was a bad day for them. We all know that prayer works so lets go Prayer Warriors lets cover them with a blanket for healing and everlasting love.

Prayers please for a friend. He is scheduled for cancer of the bowel on Wed. He has been told he will probably have to have a colostomy. He and his family are believers. Pray he will go with a positive attitude. He is very apprehensive. Pray for God to guide the surgeons hands and knowledge.

New Lay Director

Last night at Secretariat the new Lay Director was announced. Cindy Jenkins will be the Lay Director for the next three years. A huge thank you goes out to both Cindy and Sue Acker who were willing to have their names considered.

We would like to thank Kevin Farnsworth and Bill Vallet for their dedication over the past three years. God chose the right men for the job and they did a wonderful job seeing us through the transition from the Upper room. We pray that God continues to bless them in all of their endeavors.

FOLKS,
I RECEIVED THIS FROM a friend’S MOM LAST NIGHT!!! OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!!!
“Her’s ENT consultant called to say that he could find nothing additional of concern after studying her films and talking with colleagues. He did think that it could possibly have been Bell’s Palsy that just affected the tongue, in which case it might improve, but he really didn’t have an answer Anyway, she will be having quarterly MRI’s and being observed. So we will move on. Just wanted you to know. Thanks for your prayers and support.”

Also please keep her family in prayers as they stay by her side until she comes home. She has a HUGE love for the Lord and is very involved with her church and youth group.

PRAYER WARRIORS,

I JUST RECEIVED THIS UPDATE:

“a friend is doing very well. The surgeons are amazed how well she is recovering. We still do not know what caused it or how to prevent it, but we have appointment with the pulmonologist (lung doctor) next Friday. She is sore and tires easily but we thank the Lord for our miracle. The doctors were 99% sure it was cancer and it is not. Please continue the prayers for a complete recovery.

———————————-

A FRIEND OF THIS FAMILY. SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER WITH NO EXPECTATION FOR RECOVERY IN THIS WORLD. I PUT HER ON THIS PRAYER CHAIN IN OCTOBER.

MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!!! ALL THE TUMORS IN HER LUNGS HAVE DISAPPEARED!!! SHE STILL HAS CANCER IN HER SPLEEN, BUT THE SPLEEN CAN BE REMOVED. THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANOTHER BRAIN SCAN, IT WAS THERE.

THANK YOU GOD!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! THANK YOU HOLY SPIRIT!!!THANK YOU PRAYER WARRIORS!!!

Secretariat

Greetings and Happy Advent Season!
Luke 2:
1And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
2(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
That’s what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown!
My favorite Christmas scripture, but it has to be the original King James Version!!
Yes we are having secretariat Friday night, December 16th at 7:30 at Auburn UMC, 99 South Street, Auburn. BUT, it will not be a meeting…more of a gathering to celebrate the birth of the reason why we exist!!
We usually don’t have a meeting in December because the 3rd Friday is so close to Christmas, but this year secretariat night is pretty early, so I hope you can take some time out to come join us for an hour or so.
Ultreya leaders will still meet at 7 to share and we’ll gather in the sanctuary for fellowship and communion at 7:30, but then we’ll head to the dining area to listen to some Christmas music, and enjoy some time together with the Koinonia/YAK group.
Please bring some type of finger foods/snack to share. We will NOT be going to Denny’s afterward this week.
The only “business” will be announcing the new lay director. We are going to hold off on the vote for the summer leadership until January or February. After some thought, it wouldn’t be good to have both the spring and summer leadership forming their teams at the same time, so we’ll vote for summer leaders after the spring leaders have their teams formed.
Hope to see you Friday night…all are welcome to attend…the weather is supposed to be good with the possibility of some rain…Come celebrate Christmas with us. If we don’t see you however, Merry Christmas!! Kevin Farnsworth, Lay Director, Closer Walk of UNY.
